Why Dentists' Provident?

We are a highly respected and trusted brand. Carry on reading to discover why many IFAs recommend us and why we are the market leaders in providing income protection to dentists.

We have three types of plans:

  1. Our dental students' plan - a dental student lump sum benefit plan

  2. Our dentists’ income protection plan - which includes the foundation dentists’ income protection package

  3. Our retired dentists’ plan

For your clients
  • We have specialised in supporting only dentists in the UK and Ireland for over a hundred years, so we understand your client’s needs
  • Our plan can be customised, so it can be built around their individual circumstances
  • Our plans are flexible, so can change as your client’s life does
  • We provide our members with a personal service, so they are more than just a policy number
  • Our philosophy has always been based around decency and fairness, with an ethical and innovative approach to claims
  • As a mutual organisation we are owned by our members, so as a member your client also receives a share of our financial surpluses, which builds up a fund for when they retire. For more information, see shares

The standard features of our plan:

  • An ‘own occupation’ definition of incapacity
  • Tax-free benefits in the UK: All the benefits we pay are currently free from income and capital gains taxes in the UK. This includes their claim payments and the funds from their bonus account
  • Claim security: Your clients will receive benefits for as long as thier claim is valid, or until they retire. We will never refuse a claim, or cancel a plan, simply based on the claims they have made
  • Overseas cover: They can make a claim if they travel or live abroad
  • Transplant benefit: If your client is a donor in a medically necessary transplant procedure, we will pay them a lump sum equal to 13 times their weekly benefit
  • Respite care benefit: If your client is too ill to look after themselves and need constant care from a family member, we will pay up to £3,000/€4,000 towards respite care costs every year
  • Suspending their plan: If your client takes a break from work, they can suspend their plan for up to 36 months. For more information see taking a career break
  • They have the opportunity to keep their investment when they retire: When your client's dentists' income protection plan ends, they can continue building up their bonus account under our retired dentists' plan. For more information see retiring from dentistry
For you
  • Our flexible and customisable offering allows you to meet your clients’ needs better
  • We offer you a competitive rate of commission (go to the IFA registration page for more details)
  • Our financial strength and our wealth of experience
  • We are committed to offering you the highest quality administrative support
  • As a mutual organisation, we don’t have any shareholders so your client’s best interests are at the heart of our business
